About The Campaign - The How's, What's, Why's, Where's & When's All Explained To You On This Page

For too long, the fans of Malvern Town Football Club have had to endure poor performances on the pitch as well as a lack of direction and leadership off it.

Since the 2008-09 season, the club has gone backwards on and off the pitch. Poor results against us have been common, from the 7-0 and 8-0 demolitions by Bury Town and Leamington in 2008-09, to the recent back-to-back 5-0 losses to Coventry Sphinx and Boldmere St. Michaels.

Attendances at Langland Stadium have been poor for over a year, even by Midland Alliance standards, and with a dwindling fan-base there is a real danger that the club might not exist in years to come.

The problem really is two-fold;  we have neither a team that is good enough to compete at the level it plays at (we recently drafted in a manager and players from Archdale of the Midland Combination 1st division - two leagues below the Midland Alliance!) and we also have a committee who seem devoid of any ideas, and are not properly engaging with both the town nor the people of Malvern.

With a population of over 30,000 (2001 census) there are plenty of potential fans in the Malvern area, and united the club can become a key part of the community.   A successful club can galvanise the town, and benefit its economy, and in these times anything to help the economy of Malvern must surely be a good thing.

We encourage everybody who cares for Malvern to join our campaign, and we hope to be announcing some events in the not-too-distant future.   We aim to start in October, with a leaflet drop in Malvern Town Centre.  The purpose of this is to see how many new fans the club can gain simply by going out and talking with people.   We also intend to ask people their opinions of the club, and how ties between club and community can be strengthened.

If you have any ideas about how to help our campaign, please contact Adrian Barrett at the email address given.   If this idea is good, we will look into doing it very soon!
